Day 1

Mt. Kanpu is a 355-m-high, approximately 20,000-year-old stratovolcano. Roads conditions are good so the area is well suited for driving. There is a revolving observatory at the top.

Located at the northernmost tip of the Oga Peninsula, the cape features grass-covered cliffs jutting out into the sea. From here, you can enjoy panoramic views of the Sea of Japan and the contrast between the blue sky and the green slopes.

The town has an approx. 700-year history of large drums, and Takanosu has an exhibit that includes the largest drum in the world (diameter: 3.71m) that is recorded in the Guinness World Records, as well as drums from various countries. There are drum-related souvenirs at the shop next door selling local products.

The dog breed, Akita dog is a natural treasure that is characterized by triangular ears, a large body, and a temperate personality. In addition to materials on display in the hall, there are also items on sale such as Akita dog chains and t-shirts. Visitors can see actual Akita Inu from late April to late November.

Located amidst magnificent natural surroundings, this hot spring has long been noted for its effects. You can enjoy seven different baths including a box steam bath where only your head is outside the wooden box.

Day 2

The rail bike runs along an old railway line built to transport goods for a mine. The natural landscape is invigorating with cherry blossoms and fresh greenery, and the railway bridge stretching over a clear stream provides a bit of a thrill.

Hakka Pass is located at the tip of a crater lake that sunk due to volcanic activity. It affords a fantastic view. At its front, you can see the southern Hakkoda mountains beyond the rim of the crater lake, Lake Towada.

A stream that extends for about 14 km between Nenokuchi on the shore of Lake Towada and Yakeyama. The stream runs through richly forested areas and you can enjoy stunningly beautiful scenery such as waterfalls, strangely shaped rocks and more.
